A Brief History of Fairview Baptist Bible College
"Holding fast the faithful Word..."
Fairview Baptist Bible College was founded on January 4, 1963 by Baptist Mid-Missions to train pastors for the newly established Independent Baptist Churches in Jamaica. The College later expanded its scope to prepare individuals from various countries for the ministry in Jamaica, the Caribbean and the world. The first class consisted of six (6) men, four of whom graduated on May 6, 1966 at the College's first graduation.

In May 1997 Baptist Mid-Missions transferred the College to the Association of Independent Baptist Churches in Jamaica (A.I.B.C.) who turned over the running of the college to a self-perpetuating Board made up of members from the Association of Independent Baptist Churches in Jamaica. The College operates under the leadership of the Board, with an administrative staff that effectualizes the objective of training men and women to serve in their churches in Jamaica and across the world.
Fairview's mandate is to train men and women to become more effective servant leaders in their local churches. Fairview is supported primarily by love gifts from individuals and churches both at home in Jamaica and abroad.
Fairview has, since its inception, trained over 400 men and women who have gone on to make significant contributions to the work of Christ in Jamaica, the Caribbean and the world.
